In Alabama, resisting arrest is considered a serious crime. Under AL Code § 13A-3-28 (2023) and Alabama Code Section 13A-10-41, it is illegal for a person to intentionally prevent or attempt to prevent a law enforcement officer from effecting a lawful arrest of him/her or of another person.
